QuickBooks Merchant Account Questions

Q. What is a QuickBooks merchant account?
A. A QuickBooks merchant account is an account setup for you which allows you to accept credit cards directly in your QuickBooks software for payment of goods and/or services you provide to your customers.

A QuickBooks Merchant Account is required in order to access this function within your QuickBooks software.

Q. How does it work?
A. Once your account is approved, you will use the, "Receive Payment" function and the ability to receive payments by a credit card will be available.

Q. Why should I sign up through your website instead of going directly to QuickBooks to sign up?
A. There are 4 reasons you should sign up through our office:

1- We are able to waive the $59.95 setup fee that QuickBooks charges.

2- We are able to lower the monthly fee by $5/mo. QuickBooks will charge $19.95/mo, but we can lower that to $14.95 for you.

3- We will provide you the latest version of the QuickBooks software free of charge.

4- We will give you the personal touch and insure that you receive all you need to begin to accept credit cards.

Q. Is this account any different than if I apply directly with QuickBooks?
A. No. With the exception of the lower fees and free software, this is the exact same account you would receive if you applied directly with QuickBooks.

Q. I don't use QuickBooks. Do I need to buy the software?
A. No. We will provide you with a free copy of QuickBooks software.

Q. I have a MAC instead of a PC. Will QuickBooks Merchant Services work on my MAC?
A. Yes. If you have a MAC we will provide you free QuickBooks software for MACs.

Q. I also use a credit card terminal.  Will QuickBooks work with my credit card terminal?
A. Yes. QuickBooks works with credit card terminals. We would need to reprogram your terminal. It is a simple process and can be done over the phone. Not all terminals can be reprogrammed. Purchase of a new terminal may be necessary, if we cannot reprogram your terminal. We suggest you view the demo below to see how QuickBooks and your credit card terminal work together.

Q. Is there an Internet based virtual terminal with QuickBooks Merchant services?
A. Yes. Virtual Terminal Plus is included free of charge. You can process credit cards from any computer that has access to to the Internet. The computer does not even need QuickBooks software on it. Once you are back on your computer you will be able to quickly reconcile transactions from Virtual Terminal Plus with your QuickBooks software.

Q. Will I have customer support?
A. Yes. Technical and account support team provides free support to all merchants via phone, e-mail or online chat.

Q. Is QuickBooks Merchant Services PCI compliant?
A. Yes. QuickBooks Merchant Services is PCI compliant.

Q. How will I get my money?
A. Your money will be deposited directly into your current business checking account. Funds are usually available within 2 business days.

Q. How do I get the QuickBooks Merchant Services Merchant Account?
A. Just fill out the online merchant account application, or call us @ 1-800-221-0528 to apply by phone.

Q. How long does the approval process take?
A. Often we can get you approved for a merchant account the same day you apply, if you apply before 1 pm est. It will be the next day if you apply later in the day. Occasionally our underwriters may request more information, which would delay the approval process a day or so.

It is recommended that you apply 2 to 3 weeks before you actually need to begin accepting credit cards. This will allow for time to get you approved, (in case of any underwriting request which can cause a delay), for us to get you the software, and to make sure you are properly trained. Waiting until the last minute to apply for a merchant account is never a good idea.

Q. Is there a service phone number that I can call if I need help?
A. Yes. Upon approval of your merchant account you will have live, toll-free merchant assistance available to you 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
